The House Rules

Terms of Serviceor: how to behave on the porch.

Last updated: some Tuesday in 2026. If we change these, we'll tell you.

The Short Version

Be kind. Don't be weird. Don't post anything you wouldn't want your grandmother to read. Consultation advice is caring guidance, not medical or legal advice. We do our best; we're not perfect; please don't sue us over a cobbler recipe.

Keep reading if you want the whole thing. It's short, we promise.

Using this website

By poking around here, you agree to these terms. If they don't sit right with you, that's fine — the door swings both ways. Come back anytime.

The Porch (community rules)

The Porch is a public conversation. When you post there:

  • Be a person your mama would recognize. Kind, curious, honest.
  • No harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, or bullying. Period.
  • No spam, no sales pitches, no crypto pitches, no MLM pitches, no "I made $8,000 from home" pitches.
  • Don't share other people's private information (real names, addresses, medical details) without permission.
  • Don't post anything illegal. If we have to explain what "illegal" means, this isn't the place for you.

We can remove any post for any reason. Usually the reason will be one of the above. We can also boot you from the porch entirely if you make it a habit.

Consultations

When you book a consultation:

  • The free 15-minute intro is exactly that — an introduction. No obligation to book anything else.
  • The initial 90-minute consultation is $150, paid before or at the time of the session.
  • Continuation of Care is $300 per month, billed monthly, cancellable anytime with reasonable notice.
  • Faith offers guidance drawn from experience in dementia care and family navigation. She is not your doctor, your lawyer, or your therapist. Big legal or medical decisions should still run past the appropriate professional.
  • If you need to reschedule, please give at least 24 hours' notice. Life happens; we're reasonable people.

Content on the site

The recipes, guides, columns, and Care Corner articles are ours. You're welcome to read them, print them, and use them at home for personal, non-commercial use. Don't republish them under your name or use them to sell a competing product. That's just bad manners.

If you post something on the Porch, you keep ownership of it, but you give us permission to display it here (that's what the porch is for). If you want it gone, let us know and we'll pull it down.

The boring but important stuff

We do our best to keep the site running, but we can't promise it will be perfect, always up, or error-free. If it breaks, we'll fix it as fast as we can.

Everything on this site is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, Sweet Tea Society isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that come from using the site or following any of the guides or advice here. If you feel like a paragraph like this is boilerplate — it is. Every website has one. Ours just has better prose.

Changes to these terms

If we change something real, we'll say so up top. If a change is a big deal, we'll give you a heads-up on the porch and in your inbox before it takes effect.

Where we live

Sweet Tea Society is based in Fort Worth, Texas. If there's ever a real dispute (please, no), Texas law is what applies.
